The Logo

There have been questions about the logo, so here is the history.

As we all know, bees play a very special and important role on this Earth. Bees are part of the biodiversity on which we all depend for our survival. We would not be here without them, so of course, they have particular importance to Auntie M’s Flowers. They help keep our gardens thriving and vibrant.

In addition to bees being critical for existence, there is a much more personal and deeply meaningful tie to bees. My Bapa (grandfather) was a very influential and dearly loved role model in my life. He was my sounding board when I needed good advice, my cheerleader for life, and an incredible example through how he lived his own life. Unfortunately, many years ago he passed.

On the day my family and I were burying him, there was a big fat bumble bee that happily and very calmly buzzed around each one of us for the duration of the ceremony, until right as the casket was being buried into the ground, the bee buzzed underneath the casket and flew away. My bapa was always the life of the party and never wanted to miss out. It was very clear to all of us, he was with us that day, once again charming and lovingly around us to wish us all farewell.

From that day on, bees became the symbol not only for my Bapa, but of love and strength. For years, bees have graced my home in remembrance of him and legacy and impact he left behind on my life. Therefore, as I created this new business it felt natural and very fitting to include the symbol of the bee. The flowers that make the wings of bee are all birth flowers from the individuals of my family. Those who are not with us anymore and those that have newly entered the world. Those flowers also grace my bouquets often, as a reminder that life and nature are so intertwined and truly beautiful.

At this time, I would also like to thank Jes at Tender Tatties, who brought this dream and vision to life. Jes worked collobratively worked on this piece with me to make sure it was just perfect. I am grateful for her amazing talents and abilities to create such a meaningful and beautiful logo.
